Washington families deserve safe communities, compassionate solutions, and systems that actually work. Right now, too many people struggling with addiction, mental illness, and repeat criminal behavior are cycling through a revolving door system that fails both them and the public. We must get to the root issues while restoring accountability and results.

Strengthen Public Safety & Restore Common Sense Tools 

Fix the Blake Decision Consequences:

The Blake decision created significant disruption in how Washington addresses drug possession and addiction. I support strengthening our response to fentanyl and hard drugs by ensuring there are meaningful consequences, expanding access to treatment, and restoring accountability that helps people recover while protecting our communities.

Restore Effective Law Enforcement Tools: 

I support giving law enforcement the tools they need to find missing children, stop criminal activity, and keep our communities safe. I oppose policies that unnecessarily limit the use of proven public safety technologies.

Reverse Restrictions on License Plate Reader Technology:

Recent legislation limiting the use of automated license plate readers makes it harder for law enforcement to locate kidnapped children, identify stolen vehicles, and apprehend dangerous criminals. These systems have been used successfully during Amber Alerts and other urgent investigations. I support restoring responsible use of this technology with appropriate privacy safeguards and oversight.
