Katy’s Approach
I’m running as a common-sense Republican focused on solving problems, not creating more division. I’m not running as a political activist or to focus on polarizing social battles that keep people angry and distracted while the real challenges facing Washington continue getting worse. I’m running to help fix what’s broken and protect what matters most for all the people of our state.
For nearly two decades, I’ve worked in community development, nonprofit leadership, business, and recovery outreach helping people break cycles of poverty, addiction, homelessness, and crisis. That real-world experience has given me a deep understanding of the root drivers behind many of the issues Washington is facing today, including affordability, housing, public safety, addiction, and ineffective government systems.
I believe we need a more effective, accountable, and streamlined government that works for the people again. We need to get our budget back on track, reduce waste and unnecessary bureaucracy, lower costs for families, and focus on policies that produce measurable results for the people they are meant to serve.
While I have my own personal faith and convictions, I believe the government should respect the rights, freedoms, and dignity of every person. I will work to represent all people in our district while protecting constitutional freedoms including freedom of speech, religious liberty, and individual rights. I believe Washington residents are tired of division and want leaders who can bring people together to solve problems and move our state forward.
